Patrick Kane helped the Blackhawks even its series against the Blues, 2-2, on Wednesday night; he netted the game winner eleven minutes into overtime.
After the game, a reporter asked him if it was the first time he’d ever scored a game winning goal in overtime.
Kane has actually scored four overtime winners in his career, including a pretty big one in 2010 … that won the Blackhawks the Stanley Cup.
Oh, and this one too:
Kane is known for being a little cheeky with reporters, but he was able to keep his cool responding by saying “I’ll have to check on that.”
I guess he chalked this one up to pure lack of research.
Later, at 2:07 am, the reporter took to Twitter:
wow deadspin already! I did ask Kane about GW in OT, trying to lead him into talking about the others – He didn’t, and question fell flat.

Yeah. OK…
She later deleted the tweet.
